‘New Normal’

Leadership Matters.
Now more than Ever.
We can stand tall and say that the foresighted approach of the Management has helped Jindal SAW Ltd. in combating this black swan event, COVID-19, relentlessly and responding to it with resilience and valor. The period when the Industrial sector was shaken by sudden lockdowns and other regulations, we had activated our Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to face these challenging times and let nothing affect our working. The appreciation letters from our Insurance Partners (click here) is the result of this approach.

During this pandemic, our priority was to maintain seamless communication throughout. It was achieved by remote working and this digital transformation is the “New Normal” for the managerial profile employees. In this whole process, the biggest trial is to handle the people challenges and further ensure and support the physical and mental wellbeing of our human asset and their families. The senior leadership team keeps a close track on the wellbeing of their teams and ensures that all the employees are well motivated while working from home. A continuous Employee Engagement Program is in place for all the employees, like online training sessions, E-training modules, motivational videos, unleashing employees hidden talents through online platforms, informal online meetings amongst employees and many such initiatives.
The safety of our employees is of priority to us and due to our preemptive approach, we had released our first Travel Advisory to employees when the initial cases appeared in China. Being a manufacturing setup, we started our operations from mid- April after receiving requisite permissions from the authorities. A methodological action plan was prepared to ensure all safety and hygiene measures were in place. There are multiple initiatives taken to combat this virus and keep our workplace ‘Corona Free’.(click here) for details.

Robust IT Infrastructure

Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
The world is seeing the unprecedented times, times we would have only envisaged in movies. This could not have been part of a Business Continuity Plan; this could not have been a conversation in any boardroom. No organization SAW this coming; nobody knows how fierce this storm can get or how long the storm will last – all we know with utmost certainty is that Jindal SAW will only emerge stronger once we turn over from this chapter.
We are all facing a dangerous storm, but we are in separate boats, nations may be considered as cape size vessels, organisations and business houses may be considered as big and small ships, individuals may be considered as dinghy boats. Each one having a different identity and different character. In the end, some may drown, some may manage survive, but we firmly believe that most will come out stronger, effective and excited.
As an organization that has been built on the cornerstone of resilience, Jindal SAW thought way ahead of the other boats, to ensure that it is prepared to battle through rough seas and enormous waves. On 16th March itself, when the waters were still far from being as turbulent as they are today, we took a host of measures to tackle the stormy waters by going back to the drawing board and chalking out a roadmap for immediate, mid and long term action plan.
We have rebuilt our production capacity and strengthened the complete Supply Chain which had decline during the period of National Lockdown announced by the Government. Now, as we get our operations to near normal and test the resilience we have built through collaboration and innovation, we have successfully used ‘out of the box’ solutions to ensure minimal disruption.

Our Corona Warriors have embedded innovative measures to respond to the “New Normal” with sanitization tunnels which have been fabricated in-house, peddle operated wash basins, doors with foot handles and sanitization guidelines in line with best-in-class industry standards, to name a few.
With the Leadership clarity, determination and team spirit , we have lived up to our motto “Good Performance while Staying Healthy”.
